What do you do when God drops a pop quiz on you? Have you ever considered cheating? If not, maybe you should.
You show up for work and your boss tells you abruptly to come to her office.
You’ve needed a job for months and after coming close to getting a spot at your dream company you learn that you’ve come in second.
You get a call that your daughter is in the ER.
These are what we fondly refer to as tests. Pop quizzes. We’ve been walking with God; now it’s time to show what we’ve learned. How are we going to react. What will we say and do when it’s time for the term final. My suggestion? Cheat.
The funny thing about these tests is God has given us all the answers. And he wants us to cheat. All the answers to every problem we’re ever going to face can be found by studying the life of Jesus, learning from those who have been taking tests since before we were in diapers and of course reading the Good Book.
Next time you’re given a pop quiz, cheat. Use the answers you’ve been given. Do what you know you’re called to do. Speak the words you’re called to speak. And ace the test.
God wants us to. That’s why he gives us the answers.
